When I first heard about a 10 step skincare routine, I was like no way. Low and behold I was doing exactly ten steps in my regular night routine, go figure. It’s no secret that Korean skincare has been picking up traction over the last few years. K-beauty trends like honey skin, glass skin, and cloudless skin, there are so many ways to approach the Korean skincare routine. Here is the ultimate 10-step Korean skincare routine.

The Ultimate 10 step Korean Skincare Routine

STEP 1: CLEANSE

Cleaning your face is the very first step. Use a micellar water, like the Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water, For All Skin Types, to remove your makeup and any build up. It’s pretty easy to use, just saturate a cotton pad with the cleansing liquid and wipe the pad across your face.

STEP 2: CLEANSE AGAIN

According to Korean skin care guidelines, double cleansing is a must. Try a clay cleanser as the second step in the cleansing portion of your routine. I really didn’t know I was missing a clay cleanser until I tried the Dermalogica Dermal Clay Cleanser. I LOVE IT!

STEP 3: EXFOLIATE

Exfoliation on a daily basis can be a little traumatic for your skin. There are gentle exfoliants you can use though. You don’t have to exfoliate every night but it’s a good idea to fit a little scrubbing action into your skin care routine two to three times a week. To get the job done, you can try this DIY Coffee Scrub or Microdermabrasion Facial Scrub & Face Exfoliator with Manuka Honey & Walnut, which, by the way, smells divine.

Whichever you choose, smooth a small amount of the face scrub onto clean, dry skin, avoiding your eye area. Massage the face scrub over your skin with wet fingers, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

STEP 4: APPLY A FACE MASK

Adding a mask to your skincare routine is so luxurious, don’t you think? Have a wine and mask party for yourself.. Depending on your skincare concerns, choose a face mask from the list below. Even better, get the most out of your face mask session by using not just one, but multiple, face masks. Two to three times a week, apply an even layer of your face masks to clean, dry skin, leave them on for 10-15 minutes, then rinse off thoroughly with lukewarm water and pat dry.

STEP 5: USE A HYDRATING TONER

Not all toners will dry out your skin. Avoid formulas with alcohol, toners can actually hydrate and help restore skin’s pH balance. Simply soak a cotton pad with the formula and dab it onto your skin. PCA Skin Facial Toner is great.

STEP 6: SKIN ESSENCE

What is skin essence?  Essences are two-fold; they refresh skin for a dewiness and hydration, and they prep the skin and allow for better absorption of any hydrating products you apply afterward. Cool huh? CeraVe Skin Renewing Cream Serum is quite affordable and very effective. You can also do a skincare essence with Aloe Vera, vitamin E, Geranium, Lavender and Tea Tree oil.

STEP 7: ADD A SERUM

Concentrated, nutrient-rich serums provide another layer of moisture and create the perfect opportunity to target your skin concerns. Apply two to three drops to your face and neck every morning and evening, gently smoothing the serum onto your skin.

STEP 8: APPLY EYE CREAM

No matter your age it will only benefit you to add an eye cream to your skincare routine. Typically, eye creams are formulated with extra oils and have thicker consistencies than moisturizers that you may use for your entire face. This thicker formulation will better address common concerns that affect the eye area, like dark circles, puffiness, and crow’s feet. My suggestion is Anti-Aging Transforming Eye Cream and Revitalift Triple Power Under Eye Treatment

STEP 9: MOISTURIZE

In the Korean 10-step skincare routine achieving more hydrated skin is essential to skin health and elasticity. Ensure to apply your moisturizer to your face, neck, and chest both morning and night. Rub the extra moisturizer into your hands to give them a little extra love. Can I tell you how much my combination skin loves the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream

STEP 10: APPLY A NIGHT MASK

And we have come to the end with our 10-step Korean Skincare routine. We end it with our Night Mask or night time repair cream. Overnight masks are essentially creamier, richer moisturizers that are formulated to give your skin an extra boost of hydration and anti-aging benefits while you sleep.

And there you have it, 10-step skin care routine that incorporates aspects from the most popular, and trendy)Korean skincare regime. If you dont have the time to do these steps here is a super duper Simple Skincare Routine that anyone can try
