First Trimester Must Haves

Let me congratulate you on being pregnant and now officially apart of the Fist Trimester baby making club! YIPPEE!! There is so many feelings running through your mind and body, mainly nausea, and as such why you are here. You are here because you want to at least have control over one thing, the ability to get some stuff to make you comfortable.

You may be wondering if there are some essentials that you need during this trimester. I’ve actually been asked this very question several times so I’ve decided to create a FREE DOWNLOADABLE list of exactly those things — the must-haves for each trimester! Today I’m covering the first-trimester must-haves.

 

Tomorrow I’ll share with you my second-trimester essentials, and Friday will be all the things you need to survive your third trimester. Let us dive right in!

 

 

In the meantime here 5 tips that may assist with that pesky nauseated feeling:

1. Peppermint Everything

You may be experiencing bloating and digestive issues during your first trimester. To help soothe your tummy, I recommend drinking peppermint tea (caffeine free). If you are experiencing nausea, anything peppermint helps. Carrying peppermints in your purse or even the essential oil can be such a relief.

2. Water bottle

Staying hydrated is EVERYTHING during your pregnancy! Find a cute water bottle that will make you want to carry it around so you will drink your fluids.

3. Heartburn Medicine

When you become pregnant, your body can feel out of whack. You may need some help to regulate your body’s bowel movements (it happens), and it’s super common to suffer from heartburn all throughout pregnancy too. Be sure to pick up some colace and heartburn medicine to have on hand: Tums or  Maalox.

 

 3. KIND Bars

If your stomach is too empty, it can sometimes make you feel nauseous. A lot of foods probably won’t sound good during the first trimester, but usually, a KIND granola bar will sound appealing and do the trick. I love that they’re really low in sugar, and have a ton of nuts and healthy ingredients. Keep a few stashed in your purse, in your car, and at work.

4. Ginger Pops

I’m adding these Preggie Pops to the list because they are a favourite by so many of my clients. They swear by the ginger pops to help with their morning sickness! Buy these in bulks they will be your lifesaver.

5. Saltine Crackers

If you’re experiencing morning sickness, crackers are a must. Saltines are like magical nausea killers in the morning. Because nausea is often worse on an empty stomach, keep a sleeve of crackers next to your bed so you don’t even have to get vertical to deal with your morning sickness. I recommend having some everywhere you go. Keep them next to your bed, in your purse, and hidden throughout your house.
